I started on another one this week, working on muslin stuck to a board with rabbit skin glue and then double gessoed. I had already drawn it on with thinned down paint the night before. By lunch time I had to make the decision to carry on or not. I was urged to stop before I ruined it. I am glad I listened because in the afternoon I did a small portrait which I think is the most successful thing I have done in a long time.
